Light in Bethlehem Verse 1 Upon a silent Bethlehem night, Beneath the stars above, A virgin held the Holy Child, God’s everlasting love. No crown of gold adorned His head, No palace held His birth, Yet Heaven’s King came down to save The lost and fallen earth. Chorus Glory in the highest, Peace to men today, Christ the Savior now is born, To wash our sins away. Light has come to darkness, Hope to every land, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, The Lamb of God and Man. Verse 2 The shepherds heard the angels sing, Their songs filled all the sky, “Fear not, for unto you this day The Savior has come nigh.” They hurried to the humble stall And knelt before the King, While Heaven’s hosts rejoiced above And made the heavens ring. Verse 3 The wise men traveled from afar, Led by the shining star, They brought Him gifts of myrrh and gold And worshiped where He lay. For this small Child in manger low Would one day bear the cross, To bring redemption through His blood And save the souls once lost. Bridge O Bethlehem, your little town Still echoes with that song, For Christ the Lord still calls the lost To Him where they belong. Let every heart prepare Him room, Let every voice proclaim, The newborn King, the Prince of Peace, Forevermore shall reign. Final Chorus Glory in the highest, Let all creation sing, For unto us this holy night Is born the King of kings. Light has come to darkness, Mercy from above, Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, The everlasting Love.
